Isn't he adorable? A little colt, only about a week old.  He's my friend's little guy, and everyone who sees him agrees that he is just the sweetest thing -especially us horse girls!

Ello!

 

So this particular post doesn't get 2 or 3 or even 6 photos to show. It gets 22.  Why, you ask? Because these happen to be my little brother's senior portraits, and I couldn't pick a favorite! We spent the afternoon in St. Helena in the Napa Valley, searching for awesome hideaways to take pictures -something to get the whole musician, rock and roll vibe going.  Which meant alley ways, brick walls, rail road tracks, closed down auto shops and more. Not to mention the famous Napa valley sign and a winery or two! Just because.  We had an awesome afternoon, and I'm hoping to be able to book another session there soon!

How cute is she? So the deal is, it was her birthday, the big 1-0 :) And so I took her to the local toystore and then to the park for a little afternoon photoshoot, and it was so much fun! As much as I love all of the perfect smiles and the playground pictures, my absolute favorite is the one on the top right -that little mischievous smile that totally and completely captures her personality.  So adorable!

Glitter and smoothies and trees, oh my! Such a fun afternoon! I have to say, this girl is one of my absolute favorite models -anything we see that I want to try a picture with, she's all for it.  By the end of the day I had her climbing trees, running from ants, and completely dusted with glitter. She's a complete joy to work with, and I must say, I love how the pictures turned out :)

One of the more perfect afternoons in life? Spent with a horse.  Now unfortunately, the horse in this picture isn't mine, but one of my best friend's horse. One day I will have horses, and it will be expensively awesome.Simple as that, I will be broke and happy.

Isn't it beautiful? Being at peace with such a large and majestic animal? I think so.

The thing I love most about living in a small town? Aside from that feeling of being free to breathe the air around you and never wearing your pajamas to the store because you'll undoubtably run into your boss there?

Exploring. Knowing the ins and the outs and the backroads and the trails and all of the special things that give your home character. This spot is known only to the locals, where the highschoolers hang out, families bring small children to swim, and old men bring their dogs to play fetch.

A creek running under a bridge that people drive over without a 2nd thought every day, meanwhile underneath it's completely peaceful, the perfect place to spend an afternoon with a friend!

Hello all!

I'm so excited, today I had my first engagement session with a lovely gal that I went through 4-H with :) It was so much fun to spend the afternoon with her and her fiance and their little daughter, capturing a time in their life that is essentially priceless <3 I love the peaceful "lets get lost" feeling when you go exploring in the forest, getting to capture every detail for these two and their lovely daughter to look back on.  I love the finished product, can't wait for the Bride to be to see them!
